Help...sick dog...home remedies?

hi, i have a 8.7 pound yorkie and yesterday i took her to the vet he gave her antibiotics, ear medicine, and my yorkie doesnt want to eat my mom made a special stew of carrots, potatoes, chicken, and white rice, and she doesnt want it nor water or tea, my mom told me that crushed peppermint/mint with hot water would work but it didnt and was wondering if anyone had home remedies? thanks! :)

My dog has taken medicine every night since we've had her. If the medicine is a pill stick it in a spoonful of peanut butter :) works everytime.

How old is your dog - what are the antibiotics for etc etc.  Couldn't even begin to suggest anything without that information.  Make sure that she gets water so she does not dehydrate.

The reason she may not want to eat is because she doesn't feel good.  Give her some ice cubes and see if she will l**k on them to help keep her hydrated.  Once she starts feeling better she will probably begin eating again.  If she still hasn't eaten in another day, call the vet back and tell him she's not eating.  Keep giving her the  medicine the vet gave you.  Be sure and give her all the antibiotics even if you think she is better.

Sounds to me like the dog is suffering from, (Homus Remedus Ignoramus") Evidently your dog was sick to begin with or you wouldn't have taken it to the vet. Why, now after spending the money for the vet and the dogs medicine would you willingly override his expertise by resorting to home remedies? Do you have any idea how many dogs die from home remedy treatments each year? Do you really care that little for your dog that you disregard the advise of a trained, skilled professional, to resort to heme treatment. If you don't like the advice of the vet, find another one. Or, if the dog isn't getting any better, and with your input, I'd say he's not, or if he has developed other symptoms, or they have worsened since you took him, take him back to your vet again to do further diagnosis.  Otherwise, just go out back and dig him a grave, because your home ignorance is killing him!

Home remedy for what?  Don't stop giving the antibiotics.  It can take a couple of days before showing any improvement.  Your dog is not eating because she is sick and don't feel well.  Just be sure to leave water out for her so she doesn't become dehydrated.
