  1. follow the order of operations

    1-Groupings (do work inside grouping)

    2-Exponents

    3-Multiplication/Division

    4-Add/Subtract

    4(xy+2)-2

1-nothing to do inside the parenthesis so move on

2- no exponents so move on

    3- multiplication/division

Multiply the 4 by all the terms inside the parenthesis

    4* xy + 4*2 - 2

    4xy + 8 - 2

    4-add/subtract

subtract the 2 from the 8

    4xy + 6  <----Answer

    (6+3e)4

    again

1- nothing to do inside the grouping (can't add variables and constants)

    2- no exponents

    3- Multiply/Divide

Multiply the 4 by all the terms in the grouping

    4*6 + 4*3e

    24 + 12e

4- Can't add constants and variables so your done

    24 + 12e <------Answer

  2. 4(xy=2)-2

step 1: Multiply 4 x xy to equal 2..... Now you automatically should know that xy is a negative 2 because in order to make four equal 2 by multiplying it, is by multiplying four by a negative. ( Kind of think of a negative as a decreaser)

Step 2: then with the actual 2 with a minus sign, if you are sure that it is not a negative, subtract  2-2, which equals 0. that is your answer: 0

    Next Problem Step 1: (6+3e)4

Note every problem like these always goes left to right!   But on this one i am a little confused, but I hope the first one helped. If you can do thwe first you can do the second, oh and by the way,  they numbers out side the perentecies are supposed to be multiplied by the numbers in the perentecies.
