I need to simplify:

(3x +3y) / 9 * (3(x-y)) / (4(x+y))

I need help with the answers that I keep getting, which are:

(9x-9y) / 36 ...or (9x^2-9y^2) / (36x +36y)

are either of those right?

  1. (3x +3y) / 9 * (3(x-y)) / (4(x+y))

    factor out the 3

    3(x +y) / 9 * (3(x-y)) / (4(x+y))

    simplify the left fraction

    (x +y) / 3 * (3(x-y)) / (4(x+y))

    simplify the 3s

    (x +y)  * (x-y) / (4(x+y))

    simplify the x+y

    1  * (x-y) / (4

    =(x-y) / 4

  2. that looks great!
