I have a camelbak that I use on a daily basis. I cleaned this a few weeks ago with dish soap and I can't seem to get the soap out. For the past 2 weeks my water tasted soapy. Ive lost count with how many times I scrubbed the bag, flushed the hose and washed the mouthpiece. The water still tastes gross. Any ideas on how to resolve the problem?

 1. I don't know if this will work but we use Milton Solution, same stuff that you can use to clean babies bottles, for our Camelbaks. I think the soapy taste will wear off eventually but Milton might help. Just follow the directions on the packet.

 3. The first suggestion was interesting. However, James J. could be right. If you took chemistry, do you remember how soap was a big base and lemon juice is highly acidic? When you put the two together, they almost cancel each other out. It could work. Chemistry was great. We got to explode stuff all the time. My teacher said they weren't explosions; just chemical combustions. That's how we got away with it. ^_^

 4. I wonder if a bottle of lemon juice swished around in there wouldn't remove the soapy taste? The mild acidity of the lemon juice might well break the bond between the soap and the inside surface of the hydration bladder.
