So, ever since I have gone pescatarian and been really health conscience I have had horrible problems with gas. Embarrassing problems. My husband hates it. It's ALL day, every day. I don't eat/drink any dairy. Pretty much all I eat is fruits, veggies, nuts/peanut butter, bread, sushi and soy/almond/rice milk. Then I went online and discovered those are all things that can give gas. So please tell me what to do other than stop eating everything I eat.

  1. Take some Beano before you eat.

  2. They have this over the counter medicine called "Beano" which is supposed to stop gas before it happens.

  3. Chicken doesn't give gas

    EAT MORE CHIKIN

  4. dis is Y being veggie is wrong

  5. Yup, but that means you are eating healthier :)

Go to a doctor and ask for Zantac, Pepto Bismol, Beano, or Gas X

    Those should stop gas

    Good luck!

  6. Im pescitarian too, Sometimes gas even hurts my stomach too much to move, Take beano or go to a doctor and talk to them, but alot of the time i just eat carrots, or celery, or saltines.

  7. I take a product called Senokot with aloe vera which deals with bloating and wind.  One a day for a week and then one every other day after that.

    Brilliant stuff.

  8. You can try Beano which helps some people.

Or try savory herbs which have been used for centuries in foods to counteract the effects. To reduce flatulence and intestinal symptoms cook with herbs and spices such as fennel, anise, turmeric, lemongrass, dill, oregano, rosemary, bay leaf, parsley, hing, carom seed, epazote, ginger, cinnamon, cardamon, and cumin. Experience shows that the body also gradually adapts with increased consumption.

However, I think digestive bitters are your best bet. They can be added to some water or soda, or tonic water. Not even bad on their own. I've known people to get a lot of relief not just for the gas but bloating, aching, feeling nauseated, burping, heartburn, and more plus they are natural. They do have some alcohol but it is like vanilla extract has some alcohol. I can buy them on the same store shelf.

Another alternative is to add a good, strong chai tea to your daily diet. Masala Chai has a lot of the same herbs that are in bitters and which are considered to ease digestion.

  9. I get gas from beans alone, but not with beans and rice together (Taco Bell's new discount menu). I think the reason is your body can make complete protien from a correct mix eaten together, but not separately.

Your diet list doesn't include starch like pasta or rice. Try making meals with starches and vegetables together.

  10. This is a good question because I am a vegan and I have had the same problem.  I never heard of the term pescatarian.  I just learned that it is people who eat fish but not meat.  It was hard for me to give up fish because I loved it but fish are animals too and they are killed so that we can eat them so that is why I gave fish up.  Beano works well.  I guess if it doesn't work for you then you should ask your doctor.
