  1. click on the link below and do online scan..

And why have you not got a decent AV system running...there are plenty of good free one's

    out there.

  2. Did you make yourself a Recovery CD/DVD if not if you still can I would suggest doing that then use it to wipe out you hard drive and start from scratch.

  3. Why aren't you getting automatic updates on virus protections from MSFT?  You can always use the disks your computer came with and start fresh.  Good luck.  Sorry man.  Go to MSFT's site maybe?

  4. Run a virus scan or try to go into start and into system tools and then into system restore.

  5. Well, heres some advice. If it is a window and has a valid title at the top (i.e. the publisher or a vaild program name) than it is a safe and mess age and you can trust. if that's the case, get Vundofix, avast antivirus set up, and whatever antivirus you can find. Start running scans and make sure you dont open or download any files until YOU KNOW THEY ARE LEGIT. If you find it, you are lucky, delete the virus and it's done. If you can't, contact techsupport or a local tech group to help. If it changed your desktop image than it is most certainly the virus that is causing it to say YOU HAVE ADWARE or something like that, because the same exact thing has happened to me. Stay calm, do a couple scans, find it, delete it. If you submitted your email to get the file you downloaded that brought the virus block that user and mark as spam. set spam to empty on contact with spam mail. Go to control panel, then display, than desktop. change the image to what ever you like. Take note of the virus image name as it has the root of the name of the entire virus set. run a scan of the whatever seems to be the root of the word. (in my case the image was ctfmonb, and the root was ctfmon) if it is integrated into windows 32, dont s***w with taht at all, otherwise delete away. as to how to delete the integrated viruses, that is beyond my expertise.

    good luck,

    Jon

  6. Unfortunately even a system restore will not save you from a virus, because you do not know at what point in time you were not infected. You can guess, but that will give you more of a hassle to guess.

My suggestion would be first to buy an anti-virus, install and run it locally on your computer. If you are infected, means that even if you clean your computer now, you will get infected again. Might as well do it right the first time.

If you do not want to purchase anti-virus, use an online anti-virus to, at least, see what nasties are on your computer. One such anti-virus is the following: http://usa.kaspersky.com/products_servic...

If you really want to restore your system, go to

Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Backup and Restore Center

then select the type of restore you want to do.

    Good luck.

  7. u need to use ur computers restore cd or restore method.  DO NOT use the vista restore method that takes u back a few days.  the vista restore images most likely have a copy of the virus on them.  Next if u have a myspace or a facebook account, most likely u will continue to get the virus again and again.  The reason is thay myspace has many viruses that fool the anti virus programs.  these viruses are targeted at female accounts.  im not going into detail. but u will be back here if u have a myspace account.

  8. If other anti-virus programs fail.

Try avast home edition version 4.

It is a very effective and free anti-virus program.

Do a boot scan and it will remove all the virus and trojan

on your PC. Even those that hide inside the system restore folder.

System volume information folder is a part of system restore

where trojans love to hide because your Anti-Virus

or Antispyware programs cannot get to them there.

    Anti-virus installation
