  1. Well depends on what you want to know. Condensation is defined as the process by which water vapor becomes a liquid. Deposition is the process that occurs in subfreezing air when water vapor changes directly to ice without becoming a liquid first. Evaporation is the process by which liquid changes into a gas, and sublimation is the process whereby ice changes directly into water vapor without melting.

All of those have to do with phase changes. Evaporation is molecules escaping from the surface of water. Evaporation is basiclly a cooling process as the water looses its heat energy it evaporates. Its liquid water turning into water vapor.

Condensation is the opposite of evaporation, it is a heating process. Or when water vapor condenses back into liquid water.

Deposition is the process of ice turning directly to water vapor. It begins when the dew-point is at or below freezing. Once the air temp reaches the dew point and cools further water vapor can change directly to ice without becoming a liquid first.

Sublimation is when ice particles fall into dry air and disappear as the change from ice directly into water vapor.

I hope this helps a little.
