Question:

Help the leopard geckonators!?

1) Do leopard geckos need uv?

2) should i have a heat lamp or have a heating pad?

3) if heating pad, should i have it on at night? if lamp should i get some kind of night lamp thingy?

  1. I've never used uv

    i prefer a heating pad but make sure to keep it on one sid of the tank only just your gecko wants to cool down

    i leave it on 24/7 with a rock on top of it to hide in

    Lamps are mainly used for photoperiods, so that the gecko can have a more normal night/day cycle or to regulate breeding seasons. In the wild, geckos would get heat from the ground, not basking in the sun. I used light for photoperiods, and heating pads all the time. Especially because I put some in sweater boxes with holes and lamps could not be used. My geckos were all very healthy.
