Help the lettering and icons on my comp are all stretched out! how do I fix it? its either really big or tiny?

  1. Right click your desktop away from any icons, and select "Properties" then go to the Themes tab.  Select the Windows XP (or what have you) theme, and apply.  Then reboot.  You should be back to normal.

    If not, then do the same as above, except go to the Appearance tab, and make sure the Font Size is set to Normal. You may need to reboot again to reflect the change you made here.  

    The safest way to change icon and lettering sizes is with the Advanced button under Appearance. You can select one item at a time, and change its attributes such as font size or color.  Then make no more than two changes at a time, and live with it for a couple of days.  Then make two more... etc.
