Help their is a virus on my computer?

Question

For some reason a virus came on my computer,not sure how, and now i cant change my background or screen saver and my background got changed to a message the message is Warning Spyware Detected on your computer. Install an anti virus or spyware remover to clean ur computer.. Also i have a security system and it says it delets it over and over like in one hour it will say it has deleted the virus,trojan horse, 5 times help. Best answer gets 10 points

For starters you want to ignore whatever is popping up because that is just the virus trying to get you to pay to have your computer further infected.

1. Try another Anti-Virus, AVG for example, http://free.avg.com

2. Update your Anti-Virus with the latest Virus definitions.

Personally i'd say download and install Avast! Free Home Edition from http://www.avast.com

Let it update once its installed and allow it to do a boot time scan, so it can delete the virus before windows loads.

Once this is done download, update, immunize, and do a full scan with spybot search & destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.h... to get rid of any little bits hangin round in your registry etc...
