What can we do there are leash laws were we live and there are like 6 big dogs roaming are neighbor hood and we have 55 little dogs we can't even walk because they get attacked. WE have called animal control twice. The first time the lady was extremely rude. and the second time they set someone out and just left a warning on one of the houses and the dog still runs loose. Now the dogs will run up and down our drive way by our fenced in yard and cause all our dogs to bark. What can we do?

  1. I would just keep trying to call animal control, and also try to get everyone in your neighborhood to call so they have a lot of complaints from different people.

  2. That's just rude of the people that are letting their dogs roam free.  And it's extremely unfair for everybody else.  And can be dangerous for the neighborhood especially if there's young children around too.  I advise to continue to call animal control and also get the whole neighborhood to do so too.  If animal control is flooded w/ all these complaints, then hopefully they'll do something.  If all else fails, take your complaints to the actual police.

  3. Call animal control every single day.  Enlist a friend or two to call animal control too.  Call your ward's councilman.  Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

If you saw Judge Judy yesterday there was a case in which an angry neighbor shot and killed a dog that kept coming into his yard after the dog's owner was warned.  A bit extreme I think, but according to Judge Judy it was not illegal.

  4. A Scarecrow motion detector sprinkler to keep them out of your yard and Mace Dog Repellent spray to take along on walks

P.S. I own a Scarecrow and it works, promise!

  5. Don't take your dogs out. And are you absolutely sure these are aggressive dogs. It seems to me if they were truly dangerous animal control would have taken the dogs but they didn't so it seems to me they must not be that aggressive. I would just stay away from them.

  6. then move, big dogs are better

  7. have the dogs attacked anyone or are you your ogs barking at at and initiating a response from the larger dogs?  I would not walk  my dog if the other dogs are roaming where i am.

And use common sense if you think the dogs is going to eat your dog put your dog away

  8. Keep calling the animal control until they come out and do something about it.  Call them every day and tell them that you will not stop until they come out and remove the dogs.

If one of them attacks one of yours you have a right to defend yourself and your dog. It will not be your fault if one of the bigger ones gets hurt.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge dog lover, but I cannot stand when people just let their dogs roam. They are a danger to those in the neighborhood.

  9. When you say attacked, do you mean actual attack or just big dog VS little dog stare down? There is a big difference there. And if they are actually attacked, then I would continue to contact your local Animal control or SPCA.

You could also try to talk to the owners, let them know the situation and that you are not comfortable walking your dogs with theirs running loose.
