Help! time capsule? shoe box?

Question

would a shoe box inside a few plastic bags last about 4 yrs in the ground...if not what would work?

Not likely..the hot air and al the decay "fluids" will just sink in to the bags...it will stall the "eating" process the eating process..if and empty shoebox last about a year..u coould get maybe 2.7 outta this..

This is probably not gonna work - air and moisture will eventually get in there and rot it.  You need to get a container that is metal and that has a seal tight lid or a s***w on lid.  That should last ya.

You can get an ammo can at an army surplus store and it will last a long time.  I have also had luck with rubber made refrigerator containers.
