Help trying to download ringtones to a razr v3a alltel ?

Just got a razr v3a with alltel, im big into ringtones and like to have a different tone for each of my contacts so when i foujd out how much alltel charges for a ringtone i thought i would need about $200 bucks, so i told a friend of mine who happened to have same phone with alltel too and he told me about downloading motorola phone tools and with this program i was goin to be able to do a bunch of things from my pc to my phone and also be able to load my music on my pc to my phone and set them as ringtones. Well i told another friend about me trying to get ringtones and he send me a couple using bluetooth but when i when to set them as ringtone that option didnt appear for the tones he sent me. Now i was just reading couple comments from people with the same problem here and went to the sites like the ventones.com and others but it doesnt work because i have a prepaid alltel phone and alltel doesnt have internet access for prepaids although the phone is capable. So i want to know is if someone has used that phone tools program and where can i download it for free, and also is there any other way to set ringtones on this phone sent via bluetooth or txt message? thank you any help will be apreciate it.

I have the same phone with alltel and phone tools and I haven't found a way around the ringtone software issue. Alltel wires their phones in such a way as to prevent the use of third party ringtones.

ventones  works awesome and free on my Alltel Rzr V3a,

but since you have prepaid, I'm not sure, because as you said, you need to have internet for Ventones to work.

On mine this is what I do.

1) i upload my mp3 file

2) make my ringtone

3) Ventones texts it to me and I use my browser to download it.

Its actually the best site for alltel and I thought my ringtone days were over once I bought an Alltel phone. Ventones does work though.

But I really didn't know that prepaid ones didn't have the axcess web. My friend at school has one, I'll check his.
