  1. I have my target set up in the back of the garage.  I can easily shoot 20 yds.  Would that work for you?  Depending on how much draw weight you use, your arrow speed, and the weight of your arrows, they should group close to the spot at 20 yds. as they do at 10.  I'm not so sure on the 6 yds. same as 20 thing.

  2. It's doubtful. Go to a friends house that has more room to work with if you need to- at some point, you will have to have more distance to set your sights in then 10 yards.

There are other variables in play here also - if this is a compound bow- there are adjustments that will have to be made to get proper arrow flight at some point.  You will have to have the center shot correct- you will have to have the nocking point correct- you will have to have the tiller of the bow set correctly- you will have to have all fletching contact with your rest and the bow riser eliminated.- your arrows will have to be spined properly for your draw length and draw weight.- Get some one to help you out on all this. Some one that has been into archery for a little while- It's actually fun to do all this tuning and get the bow shooting as good as it possibly can. -Good luck!

  3. Are you trying to get sight settings for 20 yards, or are you tuning?  If it is sight settings you're after, then 6 and 20 yards should be pretty close.  Even with a recurve, arrows travelling at 205fps, the difference between 6 and 20 yards on my sight settings is almost nill.  With a compound it's probably the exact same spot.

Now if you're actually going to tune the bow for arrow spine, then it does make a difference.  At 6 yards differences in arrow spine won't show up, at 20 yards, you can start to see the grouping differences.  Unless you're paper tuning, then actually you have to be at 6 yards from the paper to see the way the arrow whips.

  4. Most likely.
