ok at petsmart this morning the person was gtting me algae feeders theyre yellow sand in slipped a bay fish with stripes and its gray what is it i need to know so i can see if i can take care of it please

You bought one kind of fish at Petsmart today and they accidentally slipped in/gave you a unknown fish.

Ok so the fish they accidentally gave you was a gray fish with stripes.

You need to be more specific. Can you take a picture of it?

I bought a algae eater a couple of weeks ago and it is really small and gray and has a large stripe down each side.  This may be what you are asking about.  He eats the algae in my tank.  I also bought a algae ball from petco at the same time just in case he needs it.  Like if he runs out of algae to eat.
