Help using NYC Subway!?

Question

I want to get to Cozy Cafe in NYC from Penn Station. This is the address 43 East 1st street Between 1st and 2nd Avenue. Can anyone help me figure out which subway train to take. Much help is needed so please be as clear as you can. Thank you so much!

35 short blocks and 8 long blocks. (1 long block = almost 4 short blocks) Yeah SID, you walk it.  Sheeesh.    Anything more than 15-20 blocks and I'm taking the d**n subway!

Contrary to what SID says - it is far.

From Penn Station, walk over to 6th Avenue/Broadway, go downstairs into the subway and take the DOWNTOWN "F" or "V" train to the Second Avenue station (5 stops).  That will let you off at 2nd Avenue & E. Houston Street. Walk up 2nd Avenue for 1 block to East 1st Street then make a right onto East 1st.  43 E 1st should be about mid block.

While I didn't need the link below to give the above answer you can use this to help you find your way around NYC by subway/bus.  It isn't 100% accruate all the time but it will get you close to where you want to be most of the time.

walk ! its not far
