Help using Wireshark

Question

Hi, I'm just trying to test out the program wireshark and just curious if anyone knows how to use it as the help guide is basically for people who already know how to use it.

Anyways im using wireless and trying to test it out, but unable to get it started.

I go to websites and it doesnt show any packet or anything on the graph or whatever it is.

If anyone ca help its greatly appreciated.

click capture->options.  choose an interface (this will be en1 or some other number).  You can change the other options however you'd like but for now leave them alone.  After that, click start and it should start monitoring traffic.  Go to a website or sign onto an instant messenger.  You'll see lists of packets.

if you're running it on a unix based OS you might have to run wireshark with sudo.
