  2. Avast

  3. Hi I can help you with the virus thing. Go on the internet. And download http:www.avasthomeedition.com.And Ibm the big computer company uses this one. And it is free. You want the home edition one.

And another good one is windowsdefenders.com. That also is free. Dowland that one also. Use both of these.

go to your search engine and put in those spy wares. And avast will tell you talk to you once a day and tell you they update daily. As other sites for spywares are not good. So have to beware of some. Those sites I give you were given to me by a computer Technician.

Also go to start. click on tool bars. go to Intenet options and delete your cookies -history-tempoary files -form data - passwords. On each one there will be a delete on the right hand side. Hit delete. as you get to the bottom of all that you have. As some may not have all I have. But may. After you deleted them all then hit ok. And then you are set. And go out of the pages you have on there. You Do not need to go on the Internet to do this. They are on your computer.

Also go to start again. go to start. and go to programs. find accessories. And then find systems tools. And that will lead you to a site which says disk cleanup. And run that to where it says disk cleanup. and click on disk cleanup. And that will help cleanup any un-necessary history or anything on your computer you have got to on your internet. it will say to you when  you start cleaning your computer with the disk cleanup. would you like to clean up these files or delete these files. Hit yes. and that will take care of un-necessary things storeed on your disk.

Also there is one other thing you must do 1 time per month. It is called disk defragmenter. It will be right there where you found the disk clean-up. Once your page comes up for defragment. There at the bottom will be a word called defragment. Hit that. what that does is gets all your files in order. Just like you do when you have a file and filing papers in alabetical order. That puts all your files in order is what that does. As if you do not do that 1 time a month. And your file with the papers it stores in the computer is out of place. It can't find it as easy and makes it hard for the computer to go on line or find anything.

Hope this helps you. If you need Help. Send me a E-Mail. My E-Mail is cornhuskerboy2003@yahoo.com. Put in the subject line. Need help on my computer so I can see that and open it up OK? Good luck. Hope you get it all together. REX

  4. I believe the yahoo toolbar, with is free to download has a virus scanner and spam ware scanner to delete viruses and spam ware.

  5. Firstly, antivirus programs will NOT remove these as they are malicious codecs, the following will:

    Wallpaper Hijacker Removal Tool:

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Wallpaper_Hija...

Note: You should hit all "Repair" buttons even though it may not say "Found!" This will fix a wallpaper hijack everytime if all repair buttons are pressed.

    VundoFix:

    http://www.symantec.com/content/en/us/gl...

Disconnect your computer from the internet

    Run vundo

    Restart your computer

Run the tool again to ensure no traces are left.

If there are the reboot into Safe Mode and run FixVundo again.

    SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition:

Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan

    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

    http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Ant...

Download, install, update and select Full Scan.

Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

    Spybot S&D:

  7. Your best start is to read to this forum -

    http://www.castlecops.com/HijackThis.htm...

Which will walk you thru the tools listed -

One important thing is the fact that you should completely update the Operating System and ALL of the patches.  If your machine is patched for the vulnerability on the HD, then YOU cannot get infected.  It is the more proactive approach (patching your machine, keeping your software updated, using the most current firmware and drivers).  AV is ALWAYS reactive!
