So, I am looking at picking the following wedding dress. But it has a periwinkle color ribbon on it.

I wanted my bridesmaids to be able to wear a dress that they will wear again...like the dresses below.

So, I was thinking about having them wear black. But does the black bridesmaid dresses coordinate ok??

  1. Black is very elegant, and they will definitely wear it again.  But

you could also go with it in chocolate brown if you're not sure

you like black.  Or you could change the ribbon on your dress

    to another color.

  2. the 1st dress is very pretty...but your bm would probably not wear it again. The 2nd dress; I particular don't care for...I"m thinking it might be  the model w/ that not so attractive flower in her head & those hiatus black shoes.,

Black would like nice in the 2nd dress....right now the blue makes it look like a party dress.,

  3. I like the color of #2 better than #1 or a black dress, but all of them would be pretty.

Color coordinating is easy, even if you use the colored dresses.  For the bridesmaids' bouquets, include periwinkle flowers and tie them with a ribbon that matches the sash of your dress.  It will be really pretty.

  4. yes it matches!!! its very elagant!

  5. That sounds like a great idea. A good way to then connect your outfits with the bridesmaids is to have flowers that match.

My aunt did this when I was one of the bridesmaids. She wore white, we wore scarlet and each of us had white and red roses, tying it together. If you all have flowers, perhaps have white and periwinkle, to match your dress?

Or another way to coordinate the bridesmaids would be perhaps have them wear a ribbon or sash in that periwinkle colour. It should work with black just as beautifully as with your white dress.

But these are just suggestions. Please pick, choose, change and ignore at your delight :D

Have a glorious wedding in your beautiful dress!

  6. Black is a very good colour choice. It goes with anything and everything.

I'm iffy about those dress styles, though. A high waist doesn't really suit everyone. I'd get the bridesmaids' opinions on them first.

  7. the bridesmaid dress is beautiful! and black looks so classy and elegant

  8. black is very in and very sophisticated!  an excellent choice as every woman can always use another little black dress!  make it a cocktail length dress so it can be worn for dinners as well as parties!

    good luck and happy wedding!

  9. Black is always a staple and awesome in any wedding, just go with periwinkle flowers. I don't think the dresses you chose match the feel of your dress which is awesome! They just seem so harsh and edgy next to your romantic lace dress which is really soft. I would go for a softer look for the bridesmaids

  10. Yes! I would defenitly wear this dress again, like to a party or special occasion!

  11. Black is elegant and can go with everything and anything.  Congrats!

  12. I don't know how many bridesmaids you are having, or if you've ever been one... When my sister got married last year there were two of us, we went to Jessica Mcclintok (spelling sorry) and they had dressed that we're exactly the same but the same idea, most of the dresses come in all different colors. Maybe you could go to one store, tell your bridesmaids what color you want them to have, and let them pick a dress from that store, or give them a couple options that match... do you have wedding colors? That's how my sister did it. Her colors were orange and green. Our dresses were green, the flowers were orange the guys had orange and green ties (each guy had a different color)

Sorry if that didn't help, but i think longer dresses are the way to go. I tried short dresses on and it felt inappropriate, I'm also 17 so idk if my opinion matters.

  13. I like the dress but think black may be a bit harsh for a wedding.

  14. Black bridesmaid dresses are all the rage now. A periwinkle ribbon or flowers that match your ribbon would be lovely against black dresses.

Honestly, we were allowed to pick our own black dresses for the last wedding I was in. I love mine and it only cost me $30!

  15. It's just my opinion - I think having the colors match would be prettier together. I'm sure they could still wear the blue dress later just as easily as if it were in black. However, it's your wedding, and your choice. Ask the girls, see which they prefer.

    Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!
