Help w/older child,bedwetting?

I punished him by having him wash his sheets. Now I'm reading not to take any action when he wets. How can I foster an end to this stinky problem?

Punishment won't help with something you can't control. Have you been to a doctors yet? Until then to end the smell your talking about you may want to purchase some type of diaper, like a pull-ups or depends what ever fits his size. Make sure that you don't make the diaper seem like a punishment and don't try to make him feel babyish that will only make the problem harder for him. The diapers are not a solution for bedwetting but they will help keep things clean, as long as he knows no one will find out and they are just for at night and you talk to him about it first he should be ok with using diapers for a short time.
