Question:

Help.we have at home a medium colore wooden panlels on a walls...?

we live in a basement,and want to paint our walls,becuz now it's very dark inside.

so,maybe somebody knows what kind of paint are we need to use?or maybe primer first...

and it's possible to paint wood panels?(maybe they are not 100% wooden)...

  1. first sand the finish off of them, then caulk up any major cracks and where the boards meet,sand that, then use a light primer if youre going w/ a light color, a dark primer if youre going w/ a dark color,  and paint it, the higher the gloss the easier it is to keep clean.


  2. oh my gosh. wood panels are a HORROR to paint if you dont do it right. * i did that in my bedroom* They suck up paint like no tomorrow. If you have to paint them, I would sand them first, with a sander ( so they arent so slick and the paint wont smear) then i would use an oil based primer ( its thicker than regular primer) and then after that dries, put on two coats of paint. * i was hired to paint my uncle's living room, and i did it that way..so I know from experience. it works MUCH better to sand then use oil based primer.
