Bella234 is correct, the RER trains are the best way to get from the airport to Versailles. Unfortunately, her directions are backwards. Here they are in the opposite direction:

At the airport, buy a one way-ticket to Versailles Rive Gauche. Take any RER B train. Get off at the station Saint-Michel Notre-Dame. Change to the RER C train that is going to Versailles Rive Gauche. Get off at the station Versailles Rive Gauche.

The whole trip will take you about an hour and a half. It will probably cost about €10-15.
