so i want to be vegitarian soooooooooo bad! but every single tim i start about a week later i get really bad migrains.(sp) anyway does anyone know why this might be happening? ive tried to be full vegitarian about 24 times and i just cant take it i get really bad migrains every day about a week later. please help!

  1. its normal....your  body isnt used to not eating meat for over a week yet, it happens to alot of people im not a veggiterian but my friend tried to be one and the same happened to her....

    Are you eating the right foods? You&#039;re not just eating junk food are you? That could cause bad migraines.

    Read all of this, it will tell you everything about migraines (including foods you eat as a vegetarian, etc.)

    It could also be because becoming a vegetarian is hard and your body&#039;s not used to it. Take breaks, eliminate meats by the week. One week, you eliminate bacon, the next you eliminate chicken, and so on - til you have no meat left to eat. Eat healthy :)

  3. Its your body adjusting to the change....you didnt think you could change a major habit like eating and it not affect you....youll get very sick....youll feel terrible....but overtime it will stop if you keep at it

Ok, one of two things, your body is detoxing like everyone else said or your dehydrated.  Start drinking a lot of water and see if your headaches don&#039;t subside.  Another thing, start paying attention to what you are eating that day and if you get a migraine then try to pinpoint what could be causing it.  If you have added something new into your diet, you could have a food allergy.

  5. actually, that is a good thing as bad as it sounds. alot of times, people will feel sick or have other symptoms when they go vegan, because they are basically de-toxifying after eating meat and such their whole life

  6. Try to ease off it instead of just plain stopping.  Your body is so used to meat it is suprised.

  7. Your body is detoxing from meat. I would suggest that you eat alot of tofu products for the first couple of weeks.

  8. well i can go with out meet fer as long as i want n dont suffer,,i do get migraines and have as far back as i can remember,1 thing i do know is too much dairy products/cheese/chocolate is the cause

  9. Are you eating lots of cheese now? There is something in it which has been linked to migraines, so I would go vegan for a bit (week or so) and see if it stops. You could be also detoxing from all the dead flesh, which is good! When we stop poisoning ourselves, it is called DE-TOXing. &quot;De&quot; means removing and &quot;tox&quot; means poison!

  10. well first of all did you know that alot of headaches are caused by dehydration.  read others answers and alot of good stuff there.  you should give your body time to adjust &amp; EDUCATION is you key to better nutrition.  you need to check out how to SAFELY transisition your diet - Anne Wigmore has a site with all kinds of info for folks trying to make a change like you are.  i know her stuff is good because i have had the oppurtuntiy to meet her seems like a billion yrs ago.   also i have another question for you to ponder..... some folks believe that some food allergies can cause migraines - have you researched this?  my Mom suffered from migaines - she used Bio-kinisiology to help (not so sure i spelled that one right HAHA) it did help her .  take your time, educate yourself, and relax you CAN do this.  oh yeah, check out &quot;Whole Foods&quot; website recipes, food combining suggestions, and drink more water - distilled if possible - especially while transisitioning your deit/body.  lotz of luck to you :)
