  1. Have you tried Wakulla Springs? It's really beautiful and I know they do weddings.

The lodge is too gorgeous for words. Think 1930's hollywood meets gone with the wind.

    Good luck and Congrat!

  2. Hi and congratulations!

I'm really sorry, I don't know Tallahassee, Florida at all, but I can tell you that you are going to be out of luck.

Unless you are only having about 40 people, I don't know of any place that you can rent anywhere that would be $1K and would include the food.  Even if you only had 40 people @ $25/each (which is really cheap)....that would put you at $1K.  And, most places charge a rental fee on top of the food budget...and most food budgets are more than $25...and then what about the beverages?

Where is your wedding?  Are you getting married at a church?  If so, many churches have halls that they will let you use for a reception.

If you are having a very small wedding, you could check out a bed and breakfast.  Many B&B's are open to hosting a wedding and can provide you with a reception too.

You might try to look at service club halls like VFW's, Knights of Columbus, Elks, etc. but these do NOT supply the food.  You would then need to hire a caterer also.

For $1K, your best bet would be to host something at someone's home or backyard.  That way, you can put your money into food and beverages instead of a reception venue.

  3. idk...i'm having that problem too!!!
