Help guys!

My original post is here:

Now I've got a new problem. Now when I try to boot it tells me:

QUOTE

File: windows\system32\winload.exe

Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.

END QUOTE

Tell me what to do please! I've tried almost everything... I popped in a Vista CD and ran the repair utility, it tells me that it "cannot repair this copy of Vista automatically". I tried using the command prompt with "bootrec.exe /fixboot" and "bootrec.exe /fixmbr", but neither of those two have helped at all... The "fixboot" commands didn't work either. I ran the memory assessment built into the CD and it came back clean.

I have no idea what to do :(

Please help!

  1. It sounds like a file (or more) is missing or corrupt. I would recommend doing a Windows Repair Install. Since you didn't mention anything about your version of Vista or your computer manufacturer, here is a place that has general info.

    Good luck,
