  1. train at least 3 days a week, i dont know how good or how old you are so i cant tell you much more. Mix it up with fast runs and longer runs.

  2. a k isnt as long as it seems but make sure you can eaisly run a mile

  3. okay, start running with a mile and a half.

then the next week or two go up to 2 miles.

    then 2.5 miles.

    then up to 3 miles.

Stay there for a while so you can figure out where to make improvements.

    Good luck!

  4. 3 days a week isnt enough. you have to run 6 or 7 times a week, at least 30 minutes

  5. Im 13 and i've been running 5k's for about 3 years and i usually run every other day to train. Whatever you do don't just go try to run the race you'll be tired and your time will show it. Start out small like a mile or a mile and a half for a couple days then try moving up to 2. And if you run every other day it won't be as painful on your knees. But stretch or go for a quick walk when you're not running.

  6. I have been running for 8 years now and would recommend the following:

I would strengthen the core: calves, quads, hams, back and abdominal (the "six pack" muscles along with the obleks), chest and arms. But when strengthening these muscles, I would focus more on the muscle endurance not the muscle bulk. For more advice for this, I would consult with a personal trainer. For the running part, I would stay flexible as it helps/contributes to your balance (so do the muscles in your core) but also helps prevent some injuries like pulled muscles and shin splints. Also, I would try to make up a schedule where you can run for X amount of days and try to have a long run. I would start off slowly, running about 2-3 miles per run for the first week and increase my mileage per week. Make sure you have the following: a good diet, hydration, sleep, a good sense on how to take care of your body, and sleep. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Good Luck!!!
