My son is turning 8 this Saturday and we are giving him a party at a skating rink. This is his first party where he is inviting all of his friends. What kind of party favors should I do for this kind of party??? Any suggestions?

  1. our skate rink has packages ranging from $10.00 per child to $17.00 per child.

we almost had a skate party for my son's 8th a couple weeks ago but we were afraid a lot of the other kids might not be able to skate and I was worried if parents didn't stay to help that could be chaos. Instead we had a bowling party and my son had a blast. He even got to get a happy birthday bowling pin that all his friends signed.

Thank God we didn't do the skate thing because I found out at the bowling party from the parents that most of their kids could ot skate. Plus I was worried if someone got hurt would I be responsible.

for party favors I wouldn't do much, most parents don't like the goody bags, I mean usually the cheap stuff you can put in them breaks or is lost quick anyway and many parents don't like their kids to have candy. I would skip the party favors. The skating will be fun enough.

At the bowling party part of the package was each child who came got a free bowling game pass to come back another time with their family.

  2. Usually the rink gives out party favors.  If this is not the case i say go to the party favor store and get like a skateboard thingy.  Since he's 8 , the kids don't want a bunch of junk and if you get them a bunch of junk, when you leave the rink you will see that it's just laying around in the rink.

  3. WELL SINCE ITS A SKATIN GPARTY, I THINK YOU SHOULD GET SOME LITTLE GIFT BAGS AND PUT GLOW STICK IN THEM. SKATING RINKS ARE USUSALLY DARK SO THOSE WILL BE FUN. AND MAYBE SOME COOL PENCILS OR PENS. KIDS ALWAYS LOVE THOSE FOR SCHOOL. THEN JUST ADD IN SOME CANDY. NOTHING TOO BIG BUT SOMETHING THEIR STYLE. AND I KNOW KIDS LOVE ANYTHING WITH COLORS, CHARACTERS, LIGHT-UP, ETC!

GOOD LUCK AND YA'LL HAVE A BLAST!

  4. I would check and see if the skating rink offers party pkgs that include the gift bags food cake everything so there is no worry for you.  If they don't try getting items that glow w/a blacklight.  Most skating rinks use them and kids love them.  I had my nieces b/day at a skating rink it cost me $250 there was a min. of 10 kids at $23.99 per kid.  But that included skate rental all you can eat pizza and soft drinks a cupcake for each kid and ice cream cup.  It also included goodie bags with glow sticks silly string and crazy glow glasses.

  5. I just helped with my neice's bowling party-it was $75 to rent the bowling alley, $25 in change for arcade games, around $40 in chips and drinks and plates and decorations, and about $60 for everyone to have a goodie bag (plastic cup with nail polish and lip balm, candy, little bead necklace). She had 8 friends come. Her theme was Tink.

  6. Go to one of those party stores and they will usually have a section that has gift bag prizes... just let your son pick out a few things that he likes.  Candy and stickers are always a winner with kids.  The other place you could check is Target... they have a pretty extensive dollar section that you can try.  It will usually have some good kids stuff.
