  1. Based on my experience, here's what you should do. Drop out of the AP Chem class itself, and then add it to your schedule as an independent study. Buy Barrons review book and learn the information as thoroughly as possible at your own pace. If you are worried about building a good college application, take an easier AP level course as an actual class. The independent study will look excellent on your transcript and you will not have to do any of those labs or presentations. I did just this and got a five last year with no lab experience. Learning the material by yourself will be good preparation for college and you will be forced to learn it fairly well (it is easier to slack off in class than in an independent study.) Your advantage will also be that you can still consult the AP teacher if you get stuck. Thats just my recommendation, fully tested and proven effective :)

  2. The amount of lab and presentations will depend on the teacher.  It's unusual to have lots of presentations, but if that's what your teacher does, that's all there is to know.   AP chem contains pretty much exactly the same material you'd take the next year in the required chemistry class as a college freshman majoring in any technical area.  Yes, it's hard, but lots of people do it.   Presentations are a fact of life.  You have to do them in other classes and with most jobs you could have.  Everybody hates them at first and only starts to get good at them, stop hating them, and actually even like them after getting lots of experience.  So as painful as it may be, if you want AP chem, go for it.  The presentations may not be fun, but someday you'll be happy you got past the fear of them before they became really important to you!

  3. yes there are so many labs !

but if you have a good teacher you will have fun =]

  4. From my experience, AP chem didn't involve too many presentations. But there were a lot of labs throughout the course of the year. Most of the material in AP chem will blow your mind away, as in you will feel really stupid lol because it's really hard. But since it's what your friends tell you that, it must be true if they had already taken the class. Every school's different, so if there's gonna be a lot of presentations, your best bet is to probably believe it.
