Evaluate the following expressions.

4 over 3 times 7 +162 divided by 13- 2(5-11) to the 3rd power

solve the following systems of linear equations.

4x-5y=18

10y= -3x - 3

Use the quadratic formula to solve the equations. Round solutions to the nearest hundredth.

2x to the 2nd power + 6x =1

  1. 4 over 3 times 7 +162 divided by 13- 2(5-11) to the 3rd power

    too many possible interpretations.

    is it

    [(4/3) * (7+162) / (13- 2(5-11)) ]³

    or some other possibility? is the cube of just the (5-11) or of other parts of the expression, or is it to the whole thing?

    I'll assume the whole thing is cubed

    [(4/3) * (7+162) / (13- 2(5-11)) ]³

    [(4/3) * (169) / (13- 2(-6)) ]³

    [(4/3) * (169) / (13+12) ]³

    [(4/3) * (169 /25)]³

    [4*169/3*25]³

    [676/75]³

    the rest is multiplication and division and cubing

    solve the following systems of linear equations.

    4x-5y=18

    10y= -3x - 3

    y = (-3/10)(x+1)

    4x-5(-3/10)(x+1) = 18

    4x + (3/2)(x+1) = 18

    8x + 3x + 3 = 36

    11x = 33

    x = 3

    y = (-3/10)(3+1)

    y = -6/5

    2x to the 2nd power + 6x =1

    2x² + 6x - 1 = 0

    quadratic equation:

    to solve ax² + by + c = 0

    x = [-b ±√(b²-4ac)] / 2a

    x = [-6 ±√(36+4*2)] / 4

    x = [-6 ±√(44)] / 4

    x = [-6 ± 6.63] / 4

    x = - 3.16, 0.16
