please help I am bad at government, Thanks

In 7-10 well developed sentences, write a paragraph about why you think the plan of government provided by the U.S. Constitution has been successful for more then 200 years. Why has this document survived without being radically changed? Why hasn't our government been completely restructured?

  1. Don't feel bad, our government is bad at government also

  2. Nine Sentences:

The framework upon which our great nation was built is the U.S. Constitution.  Yet, one need not look far to find documents much younger than our Constitution that are outdated and useless.  How then can a document so important as to define and organize the governance structure of the most powerful civilized people in the world continue to be relevant and effective today?  The answer of course, is that the Constitution is what is known as a "living" document.  This of course does not mean that the parchment breathes and eats, but rather that its meaning grows and changes over time.  The Constitution's meaning can evolve both directly and indirectly.  The people (through constitutional convention) or the people's representatives (through a super-majority 2/3 vote of congress) with subsequent ratification by the people, may modify and amend the words of the Constitution and thereby directly change the meaning of the Constitution by adding terms to the framework of our government.  Furthermore, the courts can and do interpret the word contained in the Constitution, and as our society evolves and our language evolves, the words of the Constitution take on new meaning.  Due process of law today means something totally different in today's modern world of civil and individual rights, and this is because of different and changing interpretations placed on those words by our courts.  Therefore, because our Constitution leaves the opportunity for the people to change its meaning dramatically (women's suffrage) and gives the courts leeway to apply new meaning to its terms; the Constitution has remained and will continue to remain the stalwart backbone of the American governance system.
