Help with Amtrak?

I'm traveling with a friend via amtrak in early August '08 from atlanta to Washington D.C to NYC and back to Atlanta. Amtrak is quoting us about $320 per ticket. We both get the 15% deduction from student advantage. Is there anything else we can do to reduce the cost? I found a coupon good for one free companion ticket floating around ebay. Does this coupon work on our trip? IS there any way else we can reduce the cost?

question are you making a stopover in Washington or

just changing trains there?

that might make    make a difference

in the fare

also I never really trust any "tickets or coupons from Ebay

like here

so if you do not stop over in Washingotn you will be pay 292.40 (which is less then 320 )

You already have one discount, you can not use another one in addition to the one you already have.  15% is a good discount.  Don't trust any Amtrak coupons you find on the internet.
