Help with Bank of America overdraft fees?

Alright... first off let me say i had no internet to check my statement and when i checked my phone statement, it was always wrong.

I was charged 175 in overdraft fees, and that put me in the negative. Heres what seems to have happened. I went to a chevron, and bought gas, and somehow it seems, they added 99 dollars to my account. its showing a direct deposit from chevron for 99 dollars. so this threw off my statement balance. i thought i had about 100 something dollars from my phone statement. turns out aroun that time 99 dollars was taken form my account. it says something about the 25th when the 99 was added.

so they took that 99 dollars and everything i bought that day took me into the negative. then my paycheck posted, and the overdraft fees came as soon as the check posted taking all that money and now i'm left with negative 2.33. Luckily i'm not in need of the money, but i want to know if theres a way to fix this... thanks.

  1. Go to the bank and speak with a manager, and explain what happened, and ask them to remove the overdraft fees.

Very nicely. They don't have to do it.

  2. What is looks like is something that gas stations have started to do. They will deduct not only your gas, but a certain amount of money from your account to see if your card is good. Then refund it a few days later.

I've seen this happen and drive accounts negative before. If you talk to a banker and explain what you think happened he might be more willing to refund the fees.
