  1. Hi, I had braces for three years on both rows. I was so so so nervous about it. But honestly, it doesn't hurt when they fit it. If you're having it on the top row and the bottom row, you'll have more pain. The pain is manageable. It doesn't hurt right away, but you will have trouble eating for at least two days. But painkillers are your friends! Nurofen extra will get you through and after three days or so, you'll be right as rain. Besides I grew to love my braces, I used to have the colour changed to match my outfits - well, every three weeks or so.

SO to sum it up: Painkillers all the way, eat soup etc, lots of sleep.

I hope it works out okay for you. I've got retainers now and I am so happy with my orthodontist's good work.

  2. I Had mine put on earlier this year.

I'm not going to lie and say they're painless because they're not, they bloody kill.

Make sure you get lots of ibuprofen or any type of pain killers.

Don't attempt to eat any hard food for a few days, you wont achieve anything but pain.

Cut your food up into really little pieces :)

If your braces start to rub, get a little piece of wax, roll it into a ball and pop it on your brace.

Interdental brushes help clean them better.

The pain should go away within 4-7 days.

They also hurt once they've been tightened around every 6-8 weeks.

    xx

  3. I just got my braces on yesterday! It hurt when they put on the bands on the back teeth. But other than that the process was painless. It hurts A LOT to eat!!!!!!I take 2 advil  every 4 hours to bring down the pain. try taking advil!!! It works for me!! :) good luck :)

  4. it DOES hurt but you have to brave it out. it will be worth the pain.

  5. I have braces too. There is no way for easing the pain it has to hurt, it will hurt at least 2 days after you get them. But it depends, while most of the people have pain the first time i just felt like pressure on my teeth but not pain, so it's different.Every month when you go to check ur braces( and the doctor does something idk why :P) u will feel pain but not that much like the first time. I think you can find some info here:

    Hope i helped ;D

  6. Well, the level of pain experienced is different from person to person. It varies depending on personal pain tolerance and how crooked your teeth are to begin with.

Typically it will feel quite uncomfortable and maybe even painful for 2 to 7 days after getting them on.

Mine hurt like crazy the first week, but my teeth were pretty bad.

I'd say a good plan would to be to stock up on easy to eat and soothing foods like soup, mashed potatoes, jello, pudding, ice cream, popcicles etc. just in case.

If it hurts take some ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Nurofen), or acetaminophen (Tylenol).

Other things that help with the pain are warm or cool drinks. Try both, see which works for you.

Be sure to use the wax that they give you to cover any brackets or wires that might be rubbing on your cheeks and hurting you as soon as you notice the problem.

Try not to freak out too much before hand, it's never as bad as you think it will be.

    Good luck.

  7. weeelll you cant really stop the pain but try taking a paracetamol and don't bite to hard (i no it sounds crazy but it mainly hurts when you chomp down) also they tell you not to drink carbonated drinks, not to chew gum and not to eat chocolate ... i broke everyone of these rules just make sure you clean your teeth regular and you'll be fine... it only hurts for 2 days after they go on and get tightend... then you get use to it :D good look
