Help with Cali, Colombia Vacation!?

I'm interested in planning a trip to Cali, Colombia and would like to know if anyone knows a good tour guide/service? Also, when are good times to go and how much spending money should one bring for about 5 or 6 days. Thanks!

I have never been to Cali but stayed ten days in Medellin and loved it. I saw no restrictions on clothing wear, shorts t shirst?? I went in june and the weather was perfect in Medellin but it is a higher altitude than Cali. Too many people fear Colombia, but I found the people there treated me like gold, and I couldn't keep the ladies away from me at the shopping malls! The do not see americano's that often. You will be really suprised at how modern there commercial districts are. Just be careful of wearing jewelry in public, there is a large impoverished population and crime can be a problem in certain areas. You can find many agencies willing to help just do a web search.

The weather in Cali is warm, sometimes hot. Usually somewhere between 77ºF - 96ºF. There's a nice wind in the afternoons that makes it cooler.

As for clothes, you can wear anything you want. But it depends where you are going. People dress up when going to a social club or a reception, and sometimes even to family parties.

Apart from that,  you can wear jeans, shorts, whatever you want.

The best time to go will probably be the summer, which is also dry season there and school holiday. Also in December, they have the "ferias" starting on the 25th of December with a lot of attractions (including bullfights if you like that type of thing).

You want to avoid the rainy seasons: Sep-Oct,  and Apr-May... more or less. You can't rely on those anymore.. The weather worldwide has gone crazy.

The amount of money depends on what you're planning to do. Colombia is not too expensive. You need probably half the money you'd need in the US.

Cali is a very pretty city.  A search on the Internet will probably help you find a nice tour.
