Help with Career choice?

Hi. I'm in highschool, and my mom keeps telling me "You need to pick a career so you can prepare!" But I have NO clue what I want to be or do!

I train and compete with dogs, but people have told me that it doesn't make that much money.....I thought about the medical field but I feel sick at the sight of blood....

Then something came to me...how about massage therapy? Ever since I was young I always enjoyed using massage balls on peoples backs, and it doesn't involve blood! But does massage therapy pay very much??? Thanks!

  1. I don't know how much massage therapy pays, but people have been telling me the same thing. i'm in high school too. and i have to decided soon. and i wanted to do something in the medical field. but, i absolutely don't want to be a doctor. so, i want to find something else.

if you want to do something medical, but not bloody, there are other choices. You can be a nurse, a pharmacist, physical therapist, dentist, dietitian, chiropractor, ..there's alot of stuff. and of course, like you said, you can always be a massage therapist. it's up to you and what you like to do. if you like the whole massage idea, then do it!

  2. If you are considering the healthcare field there are a lot of healthcare careers that do not involve blood.  There is physical therapy, xray tech, sonagrapher, heallthcare administrater, respiratory therapist, and on and on.  The possibilities are many.  You can be a computer technician for the hospital.  If you cant draw blood but dont mind lookiing at it you can work as a medical technologist in the lab and run the tests for doctors.  You really have a lot of choices.
