Help with DVD-R?

I ordered a movie from online thats on DVD-R, and when i put it into my Toshiba dvd player, it plays just fine except theres no sound. So then i put it into my laptop, and it playes fine and HAS sound. I dont know why theres no sound when i put it into my dvd player, and the player that i have is compatible with DVD-R. . .any suggestions? I havent got a clue lol.

  1. Sounds like whoever encoded/burned it used an unsupported audio codec, meaning your dvd player cannot understand how the sound was encoded. Computers can have tons of different codecs (eg aac,mp3,ac3,ogg,etc), but dvd players only support a select few. It could also be defective.

    Either

    1. First try to exchange it for a new one, if possible. Could be defective.

    2. Rip it on to your computer, then burn it on a new dvd-r using some dvd-video burning program (ex windows dvd maker)


  2. I have gotten DVDs before that were bad. I would exchange it for another one.
