Help with DVR?

I have Dish Network. Is it possible to DVR something but change the channel and watch something else while it's recording?

Broadcast engineer is correct. If you want to record something program it to record on the tv2 tuner and then you can watch something else while your show is recording. Once it's recorded, you can pull up the recording on either tuner, tv1 or tv2.

Depends on if your Dish Network DVR is a dual tuner model.  The dual tuner models can do this because one tuner is used for recording and the other one is used for viewing (also recording if you want to record both shows).  Check out the capabilities of your Dish Network DVR by looking up its specifications at:
