  1. It might be thrush/ a yeast infection. If so you will need to get a prescription cream from your doctor. My son had it a lot.

  2. Watch out with desitin because I was allergic to it and it made the diaper rash worse. The doc said I was allergic to the zinc in it. I have had several doctors since then that tell me that no one is allergic to zinc, but zinc oxide and shampoos with zinc all make me have a rash. Plus multi vitamins that contain zinc cause my skin to peel off like a snake.

  3. Hi, have you changed the brand of nappy u use recently.  It could be the crystals in the nappy that is causing the rash in the areas where it is wet.  Maybe u could try another different brand and see how u go.  Cheers n I hope it clears up soon.  The poor little sausage;-(

  4. Sounds like a yeast infection.  It won't go away no matter how much diaper rash cream you use, unfortunately.  You need an anti-infungal cream.  Take her to your doctor and either get a prescription or recommendation for over-the-counter creams.

  5. can you let her air dry for a few minutes after each diaper change. ask her doctor if she can recommend a cream for her. she might need something with zinc oxide,

  6. If creams aren't working, then it probably is a yeast infection. Just go to your local drug store and pick up some Monistat cream, Use that 3 times a day and make sure when your changing her bum to let her air dry for about 10 Min's or so.

    Good Luck

  7. When you change her diaper, wash her with soap and water at every changing. Then apply a nice thick layer of vaseline. Use the one without fragrances. At night (once before bed) when you wash her, use the AD cream and nothing else. Then go back to the vaseline. You are using too many things on her and the fragrances in them can irritate the rash even more. Also, she is not getting cleaned down there well enough by the wipes (do they have fragrance in them as well?). She needs to be thoroughly cleaned and NO FRAGRANCE or harmful additives put on her. Good Luck mama!

  8. use cortisone 10 lightly and then cover that with desitin at each diaper change.  My daughter has big red dots and that is what we do for her.  YOu might want to change diaper brands. We had to do that and it has gotten alot better.

  9. I can relate - it is so frustrating not being able to help.  My daughter had the worst diaper rash about 2 weeks ago. I used some of the cream the dr had prescribed for a prior yeast infection but it did not work. For 3 days I tired everything from air dry to corn starch - Mustella, Balmex, Desitin - nothing worked!!! A friend suggested Greer's Goo. She too had tried everything and finally got this prescription from the emergency room. I asked my dr for a prescription. I had to go to a specialty pharmacy to have it made but I used it on her one night and by the morning it was ALL GONE!! I will be recommending this to all of my friends too.

Talk to your dr about a possible yeast infection and also see if you can get the Greers Goo for future use.  It works great.

    Good luck!!!

  10. She needs an anti-fungal cream, it sounds just like yeast.  It will continue to spread until you treat it.  My Dr. had me use plan petroleum jelly for 24 hours to be sure that's what she had.  Then I had to take her in.  Usually babies get it from something in there diet  like new fruits or juice.

  11. My daughter had a diaper rash that was bleeding (at 3 weeks) and the Pediatrician called in Nystatin for her.  They can get yeast infections, her's was around the butt area.  I put Aquaphor (made by Eucerin) on every change now. I would take her to the Dr.

  12. I love California baby calendula cream. It works wonders.  My baby had the same problem when she was a few months old.  She had really sensitive skin the doctor said and that was why the rash would not go away.  I used that and Vaseline every other day now and we haven't had a rash in months.

  13. Before you put on a new diaper let her bum air a bit, and then apply zinc oxide cream. I found that Lil' goats cream was very effective. It had more percentage of Zinc than Desitin!! So with just applying a little bit, she'll be much better.

Also maybe the brand of diaper you're using is causing this as well?? She seems to ahve very sensitive skin if she's getting such a big diaper rash while being changed so often.

How about switching to Cloth Diapers? I use both, and I've found that cloth diapers because they're cotton didnt cause our kids that much diaper rash.

Actually my kids barely had any till they started going to daycare and wearing disposables all the time. My daughter has very sensitive skin and now that she's wearing disposables more, she's got more and more diaper rash! And desitin wasnt doing the trick for us. Now when she's home we try to have her in cloth most of the time and it's much better now.
