Question:

Help with European travel?

I'm travelling to Europe for 5 weeks on a study abroad and I've been trying to do my research on the whole plug/adapter/converter mess. I've found an adapter/converter to work with my laptop I think but I'm having problems with ones for my hair dryer and straightener because of their high voltage. Does anyone know of a product that works with these or would I be better off purchasing these items once I get there?

  1. You will be better of traveling without hair dryer and straightener, (as they are big and unneeded) but if you insist on having them, buy them in Europe.

They do not cost much, most likely less than the converter you need to use them.

And for your laptop, did you check on your lead, often there is a message saying 100/240 or 110/230.

If there is one like that you only need a plug adapter, not a converter.

  2. 220 in europe. Most laptops already have a converter in a charger so u probably only need an adapter for the plug.

As for the other things don't go with the cheap ones because you'll burn your hair dryer and straightener, happened to me b4 :)
