My son is in the first grade...we were using TEACH YOUR CHILD TO READ IN 100 EASY LESSONS, but he was not enjoying it and that made it very difficult to teach him. I have decided to try Explode the Code, but which book do I start with? Would book one be worth the money if we already have that foundation built and if we start with Book 3 will we miss some key information? While we were studying the Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons, we were half way through the book so we have that...Thanks for your input

  1. We are using the same series after useing Teach Your Child To Read. Start with Get Ready and let him work at his pace. If he can fly through it then great! At this point we are using Get Set and my son is almost done with that one. Start at the beginning with Teach Your Child you start with different sounds. If you start with Get ready then you son will have a firm base to launch from. There won't be any sounds that are accidently skipped.
