Help with HD LCD TV?

i just purchased a 42" LG LCD TV. can anyone tell me what the hd tuner does and how you do it. Also, do u need a special arial to watch in HD or not?? 10 pts 4 best answer!!

  1. You have to have HD service from your digital cable or satellite provider.  You take either HDMI or component cables to carry the HD signal from your digital cable (or satellite) box to your TV.  Or from your digital cable to your A/V receiver to your TV.  If your TV has the HDTV logo on it, it has a built in HDTV tuner and can support HDTV.  Make sure it supports 1080i or better yet 1080p (this is the resolution).  Without an 1080i/p HDTV tuner, your TV is not a real HDTV and will not be able to provide a true HD picture.


  2. You need either an HD receiver from your cable or satelitte provider or an HD antenna to view the HD Channels in the full capabilities of your tv
