Help with Homework : What causes children to not listen to music without foul language?

It might have to do with environment, and peer pressure. If that is what the kid's friends are listening to then it becomes an environmental and social thing. Then if the kid stops listening to that music , it becomes peer pressure from friends to start listening to it again to be accepted.

Children do listen to music without foul language.  Some children prefer the foul language mostly for the shock value.  The fact that it offends people around them gives them a certain power over these people. The children enjoy this power. Very similar to acting out in class.  When the student gets to the teacher the student actually takes some of the teachers power dragging the class down the wrong path.

its like in math: no solution. if someone likes that sort of music, they will find some way or another to listen to it. the best solution has past...

Music doesn't need to have foul language for it to be cool or hot. Take the songs played on the radio.. How many of the top 40 songs have foul language in them?
