  1. I simply ask her if she would marry me. Her reply was O.K.

  2. My fiance proposed this week.

I have a love of polar fleece blankets (my rug as a child was polar fleece so I have ingrained feelings of warmth and protection relating to polar fleece)

I came home from work and had some beautiful flowers on our table.

Then when I walked into the bedroom, there was a cellophane package on the bed.

He had had a large polar fleece blanket made up in the two colours of the house we have recently had built, and had the words 'Will you marry me?' Embroidered onto the blanket, and an organza bag with the ring I had already chosen, in the package. Now, I can keep the proposal forever, in the form of the rug, and can be reminded of him every time I see the embroidery

While not everyone is into polar fleece, it was perfect for me.

So, he should make it unique by finding out what makes her feel the best, and incorporating that into the proposal. The more unique is better.

However, you can never go past flower petals and candles for a default proposal

  3. Mine brought home flowers and we went to a nice restaurant that evening for our anniversary. I had always told him I wanted a ake with my name on it for no reason (which now that I think about it,there is a reason) and I also told him a long time ago my dream proposal would be a surprise puppy walking up with a ring around its neck and then him on one knee proposing by the river at sunset. Well after dinner at the restaurant about sunset, they ask us if we would like to see the dessert menu. I say no so she goes to "get the bill" comes back with a cake that says "Ashley Will you marry me?" and a stuffed animal puppy with the ring around his neck. (we couldnt have an animal at the time) He was down on one knee and I said yes! It might sound stupid to some but it was sweet. And the restaurant was on the river!

Its parallel to the bridge in the pic!

  4. Ohmigosh Luminous has a beautiful story.

My boyfriend asked me this year for my 22nd birthday. I was so tired from work the day before, that night i went to bed quite late and he woke me up at midnight and was like "Happy birthday! Do you want this?". Meanwhile i had drool and messy hair and could barely understand what was going on from being so tired. I did say yes but told him to ask me again formally one day and to make it a little more romantic.

  5. Oh! Oh! Oh! Do a romantic candle lit dinner and have little guitar players and violins and stuff. Yeah. You know what I'm talking about. Depends where you live, you could make it in the outback sorta thing, a bit of extra effort but it'd be a great experience. On dusk. Sunset. Beautiul. What ever happens, good luck

  6. Well, I thought I did pretty good when I proposed to my wife:

I collected every photo I could find of us together at all of the places we'd been and the events we'd attended. I scanned them all, cropped them appropriately, and touched them all up in photoshop.

There are websites that offer custom printing services (the one I'd recommend is LuLu.com). I laid out all the photos, scrapbook style, and had them printed into a hardbound book. At the lower right-hand corner, where page numbers usually are in books, I spelled out the words MARRY ME XXXXXX (not using her name here), one letter per page. This way, when the pages were all shifted slightly towards the spine, or the pages were flipped flip-book style, the message was evident.

The next morning that I had to work early, I got up silently and left the book on my pillow with a rose on top. The card on the rose asked her to meet me for dinner at our favorite restaurant and to bring the book. I'd talked with the staff already, and when we'd been seated I ordered champagne for us both.

I asked her to take out the book, and told her to shift the pages just so, and the message became visible. She looked up at me just in time to catch our waitress setting down the champagne glasses in front of us, hers containing the ring.

Not too bad for a guy?

    EDIT ========================================...

I like the idea of a scavenger hunt, so long as she's not expecting the proposal "any day now." See, there's no real likely reason to send someone on a such a hunt outside of delivering them to something big. The tricky part is still making it a surprise. The last thing you'd want is to get them stumped halfway through thinking, "okay, where the f*** is my ring?"

So, we need a way to make them go on said hunt. I think the coolest way to do that would be to involve her friends and family. Instead of finding clues or objects, get them all in on the plan. Have each send her somewhere or have "an emergency" that requires her assistance right away. Coordinate each with the next leg, so they can tip one another off when she's done with each piece. Have the hubby-to-be waiting at a (now decorated) location (you'd have plenty of time, she'd be running all over) with all the participants with video and cameras.

Do the proposal in front of her friends and family, all of whom pitched in to make the event really special and an utter surprise.

  7. its always a great memory no mater how really... mine was just in his room and sitting reading a book with questions and he asked me then on his knee. nothing too special but the moment kinda creates its own specialness about it....

  8. i am a guy and i know that i am gunna take the girl who im gunna mary out to a baseball game and hav it up on the jumbo tron \

  9. I am not married but,

How about  He takes you to the beach" Let's dig for buried treasure" You find a ring and he proposes.... romantic
