Help with Illinois homeschooling.?

I need and afforable homeschooling program. i stay in Illinois and how do I get started.

  1. If you are looking for affordable homeschooling, don't use an on-line public school.  They charge too much.

    You can homeschool for free if you have the right resources.

    Just google "homeschool resources".

    You will also have to look into the laws of your state, as each state is different.


  2. dammit....the websight www.k12.com is not working at the moment...if it was, i'd give you a speficic link to the charter schools that use the curiculum. it's realy cool, and it lets u know how well your doing in the program!!

    i use k12, through pavcs(pa virutal charter school), and i think illinois has one too...not all states have a charter school with k12 though

  4. K12 was mentioned (and yes, their server is down today) but the only option for K12 in IL is the Chicago Virtual Academy and you have to reside in the Chicago public school district to enroll.

    There's the IL Virtual High School.  You have to enroll for it through your local school district:

    Any other "program" is going to cost you.  Cost is relative and it depends on the grade levels.  If you give us more information, perhaps we can help.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "I *stay* in Illinois".  Do you mean you live there, or you come and go??????

    If you're currently in a public school, you will need to formally withdraw from the school.

  5. I'm in north western KY! Hi there. I do not use a set curriculum. Wish I could help. You are so lucky, the laws for homeschool in IL are fantastic.
