Question:

Help with JVC Handycam?

Hi all, I have JVC handycam that I bought in 2004. It is a minidv handycam with 1.3 mega pixel camera on it. It records videos on a minidv tape. The JVC supplied me with the software relevant to the handycam. Unfortunately I did not much use it then. Now I wish to use thisd software but,

The problem is that the software does not load on the Windows Vista and neither does it on Windows XP. I think it is for earlier versions. Is there any way I am able to get a software which will load on my computer with Vista and allow me to extract videos from my handycam.

Model no: GR-D93AS

I have tried contacting the JVC but they do not seem to have put any upgrades for this particular model.

I request all the techno geeks of this world to please come to my rescue and suggest me a software that I can download in order to achieve my objective. (Preferably free software, some like those available on download.com)

Many thanks for your efforts and time.

  1. Good news!

    According to the manual: -

    DV

    Input*/output: 4-pin, IEEE 1394 compliant

If you purchase a firewire card and cable (to go inside your PC) you can connect the camcorder to the PC via a high speed firewire connection and ... even better Windows MovieMaker (already installed on your PC WILL recognise the card/cable and camcorder!

Seems a lot of others had the same problem and this is the fix.

    Good luck

    Tony
