Help with Kindergarten?

My son is in kindergarten this year and he is stuggeling with some of the work i was needing some good ideas to make him want to do this work he needs to learn letters ,sounds ,small words etc. also any one know any good learning web pages to go to .

children like to play so you can use games to make the study more interesting for him

for example:

you can use flashcard as memory game by putting  down all the cards, then let him open up the cards ask him what letter is that, if he answers correctly, give him points with corresponding rewards, he would love it

or you can ask the sound of the letter and let him give you the letter you sounded..

put all the letters in the bag and let him get one and name the letter of the words

hope this will work out with him =)

you can also use the reader rabbit jumpstart software which you can buy in any computer shop

* just remember to give him rewards for all his correct answers, a good job star or sticker would really help!

try to think like a child and be creative!

Get some learning games and refridgerator magnets.  Make it fun. Have him identify letters in signs that he sees.  Read to him often.  Have him count items: napkins, forks, rocks, pennies, wheels, cars, ect.   Board games with spinners like chutes and Ladders are great.  Make it fun.  It is so good to hear that you are willing to help him.

im a substitute teacher just give him time everything is new to him and he is still trying to adjust or maybe you can ask his teacher to suggest some websites .oh i remember one. try alphabet soup.

my little  sister loves this website called pbskids.org.

It's very educational, depending on what TV show you choose for him. your son can work on his skills while playing with his favorite TV characters.

go to ur nearest chapters or indigo, they should have some of those books

even try gettin some hooked on phonix stuff from toys r us they are educational and entertaining

well when i grow up i really want to be a teacher! so let me help out!!!!! um... maybe you can get some ideas of what he likes .. example if your son likes cars than you teach him how to say it and spell it and if he does really good than buy him a new toy car! it would get him really excitied and believe me if he wants a car than he will work hard for it i do it all the time!!

do you know that they are selling the video game i think it it is called a leap pad thing since your child is a boy he should like video games.and plus it is very educational too.

Get the DVDs Letter Factory and Word Factory. They are made by Leap Frog. Have him watch them every day. I promise they will help him. I had the same trouble with my 7 year old when he was in kindergarten. This year, however, in second grade, he read the most minutes of any second grader in the Read-a-Thon. He came in second in the whole entire school!!

there are so many games in Toysrus that looks like computers for little kids. they can learn math, reading, alphabet so much on it. you can try that. or maybe try making it fun for him so that he wants to learn.

I went and bought that game that hangs on the fridge. You take each letter of the alphabet and insert it in the front and it tells you the letter and the different sounds for that letter. It also does numbers. Then there is the one by the same company where you can put together words like cat, hat, mat. It helped my son when he was in kindergarten and it helped my daughter and she is in kindergarten now. Go to wal-mart or target educational toys and you can not miss it.
