  2. If you want to go to Lowell, you have to be smart. REALLY smart. Well, not genius scary smart but you at least have to have mostly A's on your report card.

How do they find out if you get in?

What do you mean? They send you a letter after you go through the admission processes [tests, applications, etc] whether you get in or not. That's right around May [ 3 or 4 weeks before school ends].

If you want to get into Lowell, you have to be participating in extracurricular activities school related or non-school related; good grades [obviously]; and show you really want to go there. Yeah they look at the grades but they also look at your participation at school and stuff and you have to do well on their admission test.

Here's more information from the school site:

I got into Lowell and I'm attending 9th grade this fall. If you have any questions, send me an email. :]

Don't fall back on your studies and if you have nearly straight A's, don't worry you'll get in!

  3. I assume you mean the Lowell High School in SF.  If so, I believe that you need to apply.

Admission is based on your grade point average.  I hear it is very competitive.

When I went many years ago, you just needed the desire to go and a GPA of 2.5, I believe.

    Now the requirements are higher.

If you want to go, go for it!
