  1. From Other World Computing (macsales.com) $119.99 plus $2.50 shipping.

    From MacMall, $109.99 plus $20.85 (!) shipping.

You may have jumped to the wrong conclusion that you need to reinstall just because you can only boot fully in Safe Boot. Could be a problem with some third-party software. Troubleshoot for startup problems by starting in Safe Boot, open System Preferences > Accounts, go to the Login Items tab, uncheck items and restart. If that doesn't help, restart in Safe Boot, open Disk Utility, repair the hard drive and then repair disk permissions. If that doesn't help, restart in Safe Boot, move the Fonts folder(s) to the desktop, restart. Eventually, you will need your install DVD so buy it even if you get this problem solved without it.

  2. You can boot from any OSX disc by inserting the disc and restarting the machine with the C key held down.  Can't you just borrow an install disc?
