Help with My Two Dogs?

I have to male dogs about 2 years old(human years) there blue heelers mixed with something else. Recently theyve been getting into the trash and taking things of the counters and chewing things up when they never used to do it before. They are both nuetered, and they have plenty of food so i dont know why they keep getting food from of the kitchen counter. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

It seems to me that they obviously don't see you as a leader or boss to them, and it is obvious that they don't see the kitchen (or its counters) as off-limits to them. You need to establish your role as the boss, and what you might consider is luring them into the kitchen, then correcting them to get out of it. its the only way they will learn. Also, you can consider doggy gates to block the entrances to your kitchen, but thats not really solving the problem. They have recently realized that they can get away with doing what you say they are, so you need to take the time to correct their behavior

I would start by making sure they are getting enough exercise. I believe that breed loves to run run run. After exercising, if you catch them getting into the garbage or grabbing something off the counter, have a spray bottle of water (set to stream) or some type of bottle with pennies in it , then shake it when you see that they are going to get into trouble. This will spook them and after enough times they should get the idea. No harm done, and they are behaving properly.

Human food just tastes so good! I have a beagle, so I can sympathize.

The only solution is to keep food off the tables and put a lid on the trash can. If you can, get it locked. Now as for the chewing, get a bottle of bitter apple and spray it on any problem areas.

I used to have a problem with my 2 dogs, first make sure that you get rid of any human related food that may be out and have tops to your sealable trash can tops. Second, it a spray call Bitter Apple (look it up on google), which is a taste deterrent and help then not chew up furniture because they probably still teething. Last obedience training is need, just because they are nurtured doesn’t mean that they are trained, find someone that reasonable and do some reviews about the trainer.

Keep food off counter and a lid on the trash can. Then i was get two kong toys and put there favorite treats in them that way they will be occupied with that then searching for food and trash. My dog loves it keeps him busy while i am at work and not chewing up my plants.

try putting something heavy on the can and when and if you see them on the counter yell NO!!!! DOWN!!!!!!!! or put some thing very strong smelling up there that they dont like but wont harm them maybe this might work....... or just put up a baby gate where they cant get in the kitchen
