Help with PCOS and clomid

Question

I was diagnosed recently with PCOS. I went to see the specialist today and he has prescribed Provera to bring on a period and Clomid 50mg to be taken on CD 2-6. How effective is this treatment? Has anyone had much success? I've been booked in for a blood test on CD21 to see if its working but just wanted to ask for some opinions

Hey there!

I was pot on all the same things as you plus metformin 2 months ago. I just finished my second round of meds and I am waiting for day 12 so I can take ovulation tests and then take a blood test to see if I actually did ovulate. I have some friends that got pregos there first month of clomid including my mother in-law and had my husband and that was 32 years ago so it does work :)

i was put on provera and metformin in may of this year. and i was also put on clomid 50 mgs on days 3-7 of my cycle. it worked for me i am 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant right now. i am due march 7,2009 i am so excited and i am sending lots of baby dust your way and i am also praying that this treatment works for you. o i guess that i forgot to say that i also found out in may that i have pcos.

i have been off the pill since dec 2006 to try for baby.come may in 2007 i didnt get a period and i though i was pregnant and did a test come back negative then come july didnt get period for 4months and then i went to the docters and they did tests to say i have pcos.am on metformin 500mg for 3 times a day.i got a period in nov jan feb and skipped march and got one in april, and in may and skipped june and got one in july.

i went to see my specialist in may and am also losing weight aswell witch is good.i went for a blood test in june to see if am ovulating on my own and am not so i was told to start on clomid as soon as my period comes so i started it on 4 july with the pills.

my prosterone level is 24 witch is good and the nurse wants it to be 30.i did my blood test on day 21 but according to her i didnt ovulate she thinks it was later then that.i was told today my cycle is 31 days and i need to go for a blood test on day 24 witch is monday the 25th but we have bank holiday so am doing it the tuesday.
